Scientists are more certain now the brain can actually repair itself (it is called "neuroplasticity"). Read. for example, Abigail Zuger's review of Norman Doidge's "The Brain That Changes Itself," here

One of the best way to repair the brain (or more correctly, the mind, according to Buddhism), is through MEDITATION. In this connection, I would like to introduce this course, especially if you have already learned some meditation. If you are new to meditation, this forms a helpful foundation for joining a meditation course:

[Four weekly sessions of 2 hours each.]

  • Body-mind theory .
  • Feelings & emotions: their differences.
  • The brain during meditation.
  • How the mind works moment to moment .
  • How the brain repairs itself.
  • Mindfulness in daily life.
  • Focusses of mindfulness.
  • Effective attention & environment .
  • Reality: virtual & real.
  • Self-watching, self-healing.
  • Meditation methods.
  • Practice sessions.
