Biography of Venerable Shravasti Dhammika



Venerable Shravasti Dhammika was born in Australia in 1951. He was ordained as a Buddhist monk in India and later lived in Sri Lanka where he became well-known for his efforts to promote Boddhism. He worked in Singapore in 1985 being a spiritual Advisor to the Dhamma Mandala Society and several other Buddhist groups.

Venerable Dhammika has taught at the Education Department's Curriculum Development Institute and also made several television films for the Institute. Among the books he wrote include All about Buddhism, Good Question Good Answer, Matrceta's Hymns to the Buddha, Gemstones of the Good Dhamma, Encounters with Buddhism and The Edicts of King Asoka.
