Venerable Sangharatana was born in Nebraska USA in 1943. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Theater Arts from UCLA and completed graduate studies in animation in 1969, He was in the film business before ordained as a monk in 2004 by Bhante Henepole Gunaratana at the Bhavana Monastery USA. He moved to Bodhinyana Monastery in 2009 and has been under the guidance of Ajahn Bhram ever since.
