Forest Method (4 sessions)
This open meditation series for beginners, is popular amongst Buddhist and non-Buddhist alike. The teaching approach is that of very basic Buddhist Psychology taught in a practical manner. The course comprises two related sections:
Theory - A study of the meditation methods as given in the original texts of the Buddha
Practice - A guided practice of the meditation method (including Q&A sessions)

Piya Tan is a full-time lecturer and researcher in early Buddhism, and has conducted numerous courses and retreats since 1980s. In 1992, he was a Visiting Scholar (Buddhist Studies) at the University of California at Berkeley, USA. Currently he is working on a translation of the early Buddhist suttas.
