May 07 to Jun 19 | By Ruwan Buddhist Society | Dhammapada - The chapter on Fools (bala vagga) & the chapter on The Wise (pandita vagga)
We welcome you to join us once again to learn the Teachings of the Buddha from the Dhammapada - The chapter on Fools (bala vagga) & the chapter on The Wise (pandita vagga).
In order to help us get closer to the teachings of the Buddha, we will be understanding the stanzas through the original language - Pali.
In the Dhammapada are enshrined the basic tenets of the Buddha's teachings. The 423 melodious Pali verses were culled from various discourses given by the Buddha in the course of 45 years as He travellled in the valley of the Ganges and the sub-mountain tract of the Himalayas.
The Buddha was a master psychologist; He understood the way the mind works and the conditions we all encounter. Learning the teachings of the Buddha can encourage us to reflect on the quality of our lives, understand the consequences of our actions, and open our hearts to the deep joy of selfless action.
Do join us for this great gift of the Dhamma - an indispensable companion in our daily life! May the seeds we sow help us on the path to enlightenment !!
